The City of Pratt and the Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Water Resources are currently working on new floodplain maps which will be added to this page as soon as they are available. The most current floodplain maps are from 1983. Pratt's biggest hazard is the Ninnescah River that is on the southern edge of the City. This river has overflowed it's banks in the past and caused floods in Lemon Park, Santa Fe Road, and parts of Country Club Road and South Main Street. It is highly recommended that you do not drive in flooded areas. A car that weighs less than 1,500 pounds could float in afoot of water. Two feet of water will carry away most cars. Turn Around Don't Drown.
