What does this mean for my community?

Why is this necessary?

It is critical to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). If we don’t act now, the virus can

spread very easily. This is why we must follow the Governor’s Executive Order 20-16 and encourage

everyone to stay at home as much as possible. Local businesses are a critical part of slowing the

spread to protect ourselves, our families, and our community.

What is an “essential” business or organization?

• Hospitals

• Childcare facilities

• Pharmacies, health care supply stores, and health care facilities

• Essential municipal functions

• Grocery stores

• Gas stations and auto repair facilities

• Hardware stores, plumbers, electricians, and exterminators

• Educational institutions, to facilitate distance learning and student meal services

• Banks and financial institutions

• Laundromats & laundry service providers

• Businesses that ship or deliver groceries,

Essential businesses are those that support the health, safety,

and basic needs of our residents.
